Epidural Steroid Injection
How is an Epidural
Steroid Injection Performed? Medications (anesthetic and steroid) are injected into the epidural space of your neck or back at the site of the suspected pain generator. This area generally encompasses the intervetebral discs and spinal nerves along the spinal column. This injection may provide pain relief for weeks to months. In some cases, you may need more than one injection to get pain relief. The physician will discuss the results of your injection with you during your follow-up appointment.
